Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was first to achieve a perfect 10 in an Olympic celebration. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became the coach for Comaneci who first came across Comaneci at the age of six. Her first competitive event was the National Junior Championships where she placed 13th in the year 1969. In 1970, she won. At her first international competition in an preolympics junior event for nations in the Communist bloc, she took home three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1975 she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. At her first competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva, a five-time European champion, winning four gold medals and one silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in an unmounting from uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In her teens she started appearing on touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the entertainment industry as a teenager. At the age of a girl, she began performing as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. The shows featured the ice skating of which was followed by musical performances.
